The right fit matters for more than comfort. A glove that fits keeps your hands warmer and gives you better grip. Here’s how to find your size.

How to measure your hand

  1. Use a soft tape measure.
  2. Measure your dominant hand: the right if you’re right-handed, the left if you’re left-handed.
  3. Wrap the tape around your palm at the widest part, below the knuckles and not including the thumb.
  4. Note the measurement in inches (or cm), then find it in the chart below.

Tots sizes go by age. If your child is between sizes, size up so there’s room to grow.

In between sizes?

  • Size up for warmth. A little extra room traps more warm air around your fingers.
  • Size down for dexterity. A closer fit gives you better feel for buckles, zippers and poles.

Fit tips

  • Mitts and gloves use the same sizing. If you wear a medium glove, you wear a medium mitt.
  • Leather breaks in a little, but it should fit about the same as when new, so order your normal size.
  • Kids: age is a starting point, but measure if you can. Hands grow at different rates.

Do mittens fit differently than gloves?
