High quality gloves, but had sizing issues

I used the Swany's size guide and measured my hands. Based on this guide, I would be a women's Small (and I would agree that my hands are slender and typically a women's small). I read the reviews and opted to go up a size to Medium. Even with the Medium, my middle finger was right up against the end of the glove with no wiggle room in length or width. The gloves seemed to be of very high quality so I opted to exchange for a size Large. The Large are too big, particularly in the thumb and in the width, but I skied with them this past weekend and they were warmer than my old gloves, albeit a bit bulky due to the excess space and material. I am opting to keep them because they are an improvement and they seem to be very well made. I'm hopeful that with the extra room, they will accommodate liner gloves in extremely cold temps skiing in New England.

Absolutely lifesaving! And gorgeous leather!!

These mittens are unbelievable! Perfect fit for my hands - super supportive, warm and comfortable. Beautifully made with attention to every detail. Really great for my bad Raynaud’s and arthritic troubles!

A bit disappointing

I was looking to replace a pair of Swany ski gloves I’ve worn for over 15 years with a warmer pair suitable for single digit temperatures. Unfortunately without additional heating to the glove, my fingers got cold. I do love the separated finger channels which is why I returned to the Swany brand.

Awesome mitten!

This is my second pair of these mittens. They are warm, comfortable and the first pair lasted 10 years! The only reason I replaced the first pair is the fabric is wearing thin on the inside of one. I like that Swany added wrist straps to the new version. Everything else is just as great as the first pair. Highly recommend!

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to view our full list.

What is the warmest glove?

Our warmest gloves have our Level 5 Warmth Rating, meaning they are tested to keep you warm in temperatures down to -20°F / -30°C. Read all about our warmth ratings.

How do I find my glove size?

To find out your glove size, measure (in inches) around your hand with a tape measure across your palm and use our size chart to find the best size for you. You should use your dominant hand, the right if you are right-handed, and the left if you are left-handed.

How do I care for my gloves

Fabric gloves, even with leather palms, can be hand washed with sports wash or Woolite. (Follow detergent manufacturer's directions). Be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent.

It is a good idea to have your hands inside your gloves during the wash & rinse process to help maintain the shape of the gloves.

Soap has surfactants that reduce the surface tension of water and dramatically reduce waterproofness. (Nikwax or a similar waterproofing material, works best).

Be sure never to wring out your gloves, as it can ruin the internal stitching and lining materials. You need to let the gloves air dry away from direct heat.

Clean the outside of leather gloves with a mild leather cleaner. It is recommended that you have your hand inside your glove as you gently clean it. After cleaning, you should spray your gloves with a silicone spray to protect the leather.

As for the inside of the glove: it is very difficult to clean the inside of gloves. You could try using Woolite on a cloth and gently clean the inside or try spraying the inside with Febreze. Then you would have to let them air dry.

A second option is to have your gloves professionally cleaned.
